Surrender to God's Will

  1. James 4:7 - "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." 
    • This verse encourages us to fully submit to God's authority and will. When we surrender to God, we are empowered to resist the devil's temptations

  2. Romans 12:2 - "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." 
    • Surrendering to God requires a transformation of our minds. As we renew our minds with God's Word, we are able to discern and follow His perfect will.

    • Surrendering to God requires denying our own desires and fully committing to follow Jesus, even when it's difficult.

  2. Philippians 4:6-7 - "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." 
    • When we surrender our worries to God in prayer, He grants us a supernatural peace that transcends our understanding.

  3. 1 Peter 5:6-7 - "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." 
    • Surrendering to God requires humility. As we cast our anxieties on Him, He will lift us up in His time.
